My sissy, Cheri, loving up on me!

It's a dog's life for me!

Charlie weighed me today and I am 78 pounds. I will be 7 months old on Monday. I am officially bigger than Cheyenne now. She may be faster but I have been pretty successful at knocking her on her butt these days (hehe).

Mom and Dad have been building something in the backyard. Mommy calls it a pool and she gets inside but I can't see her when she is in there. I don't like stairs so Mommy is on her own on this one. Daddy puts some grass around the pool and it is now my favorite place to go potty. Mom keeps picking it up off my grass, so I just have to go again. She just doesn't get it sometimes. We used to spend all of our time in the front yard but now we hang out in the back. It is fun because there are a lot of new smells. I like smelling things, except when I smell dogs on Mommy; that upsets me. Today, when Mommy got home from the fair, I smelled some animals I had never smelled before. I really didn't like that! She is MY Mommy.

It has cooled off a little outside and I really like it because my black fur really holds in that heat. When we walk on our trail, Cheyenne and I don't get as tired when it is cooler and we can run more. On hot days all we want is back in the air conditioned house and some water. Mom always gives me ice from the fridge - that is my favorite!

This is how I spend my summer days, walks with Mom, smelling new smells, eating ice, wrestling with Cheyenne, and taking naps. Like I said before, more humans need to take some lessons from us dogs. We know how to live it up.
